The Deauville Miami Beach Gets Demolished

Recently found out about this from the Miami Design and Preservation League website, very sad to hear that the Deauville in North Miami Beach has met it’s end. The reason for the demolition was supposedly that the building had deteriorated to such a condition that nothing could be done to save it. Needless to say accusations have been rampant that the owner purposefully let it fall in to disrepair so that they could demolish it. Considering what beachfront property is worth these days on Miami Beach, not hard to believe. Sad to say another hotel bites the dust. Built in what is now know as the Miami Modern style of architecture, 1957, designed by Melvin Grossman, a loss for the community and the neighborhood culturally.

Not much of an article but you can watch the video at MDPL website.
