Name: 18-36-54 House
Client: Tobias Meyer and Mark Fletcher
Address: New Milford CT
Architect: Daniel Libeskind
Style: Deconstructivism
Description: Completely reimagine what a home can be and how it should look. Perhaps one of the most startling and beautiful modern homes built. Home of the NYC Gallerists Tobias Meyer and Mark Fletcher. Approximately 2,000 square feet, completed in 2010. The name references the number of planes (18), points (36) and lines (54) of the structure. Clad in bronzed stainless steel, designed as a folding ribbon, in an over and around itself. While seemingly shocking sharp and distinctively Libeskind in style, the home is oddly cozy and warm inside, aided by generous use of wood on surfaces, light from the outside coming in and open spaces.
