Name: Villa Dall’Ava
Client: Mr & Mrs Boudet
Address: Saint Cloud, Paris France
Architect: Rem Koolhaas
Style: Post Modern
Description: Early residential single family home designed by Rem Koolhaas in the suburban neighborhood of Saint Cloud in Paris France. Completed in 1991. Villa Dall’Ava is a post modern interpretation of Le Corbusier’s 5 Points Of Architecture that defined the International Style. It is very interesting to place Villa Dall’Ava side by side with the Villa Savoye and compare the two, ribbon windows, pilotis, first floor glass, roof garden, free and open plan. Villa Dall’Ava is also interesting to compare to Koolhaas’ later works to see how the architects style evolved from post modern to deconstructivism. Villa Dall’Ava is very much a young architect experimenting and finding their “voice”.
